04/15/2011 Severe storms Thursday evening, including a tornado that has killed two people in Atoka County, has OG&E crews preparing today to restore some damaged sections of the transmission system in southeastern Oklahoma.

The 345—KV Seminole to Pittsburg line was damaged near Ada; helicopter assessment is under way. There are 30 poles down on a 138—KV line near Lula, among a few other storm related problems. The impact on OG&E customers has been relatively minor; the transmission disruptions are primarily affecting City of Oklahoma water pumping operations.

At the peak of the storms Thursday evening, about 2,800 OG&E customers were without power. That number had been reduced to less than 500 Friday morning.
